    Uncle Stinky: July 2008 Archives

July 20th at Persia wa a good weekend for MBR. Trevor finished the 85jr class a passed several riders in the 65sr class. He continues to improve but we may limit the day before practicing sessions to 2 hours maximum so they aren’t worn out for Sundays racing.

Cole was as proud of himself as we were for him. He finally beat his rival and friend Zane. He wanted to tease Zane after the race but realized it wasn’t appropriate at the time. He continues to be the points leader.

Broc took second in the 85jr class to a District 22 racer, Chase Evans and fourth in the open class. Luke V continues to gain speed as he holeshot moto 2 of the jr class and holding Broc off for the first lap. Broc continues to lead the 85jr and is 3rd in the open.

Mason Brothers Racing results for July 5, 2008 at Pine Hill MX

This was the first race since the boys attended the Alex Manga MX School. Expectations were high from all three boys, we just wanted them to use what they learned and do there best.

In practice, Trevor went down hard over the handlebars in the rhythm section, biting his lip and hitting his head and knee. He was hurting and didn’t think he could race. After sitting through the rest of the practices, he decided to gear up for the first 85jr moto. This was his first race on the 85 and he did great. He finished the race with no crashes and proved he was tough enough to come back after a big crash. During the second moto he bettered his finish and ended up 5th for a 5th overall.

His 65 sr race was even better for him as he finished 3rd in both motos for a third place on the night.

Cole’s motos went well for him as well, he fought for second overall for the night. He looked faster than Broc in the main straightaway and was able to fight off a late charge from third place.

Broc had an interesting night with both moto wins in the 85jr class. He was challenged both times by our friend Luke V. His 85 open race marked the first time Broc won the class. He beat the points leader Tom Cox and did a no footer off the finishline jump.

All three of the boys proved that they had learned from the Alex Manga MX School and that we hadn’t wasted our time and money. Thanks to everyone who helped us get there!
