Cole: January 2008 Archives
In sub-zero temperatures, we raced our first indoor supercross of 2008, the Midwest Supercross run by Peterson Racing Promotions. The race is so well run that it should be on the list of any Midwest rider, nice job guys!
After an afternoon of practice, we started the evening with Cole taking 3rd in his heat race. Broc then took 4th after rolling all of the doubles and holding back from his normal abilities. In the 65cc 7-9 main, Cole started in 4th then passed for third. With 2 laps left, Cole had caught up with second and was trying to pass everywhere. He tried to pass in the whoops with 2 corners left and went down hard. The crowd was into this battle and a big sigh went out when Cole went down. He ended up gettng back up and finishing 8th.
Brocs' race had him getting a 4th place start and finishing in 5th place. He told me that he would double the section on Saturdays' practice and hopefully be in the hunt for a win! ![]() Broc and Cole started the season in style this weekend in Brookings, South Dakota at the Midwest Supercross. Broc's Yamaha YZ85 and Cole's Kawasaki KX65 were outfitted with awesome MBR graphics provided by the folks at RoostMX. Thanks to Christina, Chris and Matt from RoostMX... the bikes look awesome!
![]() Cole took the 50cc jr Championship and Broc won the 65cc jr Championship in 2007. The 2nd annual Hillblazer's Hillclimb was held in March 2007, and Cole was the only 50cc bike to clear the hill. If you listen closely, you can hear the crowd cheering him on. He was competting in the 50-84cc class, which meant he was running against 65cc bikes and 3 of them had extended swingarms. He ended up 4th in his class! Broc won the 85-124cc class and even climbed the bigger "Technical Hill" after the event was over, making the club question the toughness of thier hill if an 85cc bike can climb it. 2007 was a good season for Cole... just wait until 2008! |
